hump day

Well today was a pretty good day. I didn't bother doing laundry 'cause of the rain, I hate having to hang the diapers indoors, I would rather wait till Friday when I can hang them out in the sun.

Brooke's hair is finally getting long enough to pull up, yay! After her bath last night, I put her hair up in a little ponytail, like the one Pebbles has. It's so cute and I posted pics. She is just growing up before my very eyes! She tried to stand by herself a couple times again today, and is getting better at it. Pretty soon we will have a walker! Its hard to believe that she will be a year old in two months! Where has my little baby gone? :')

Last night I made my first diaper cover. It was definatly a learning experience! It came out waaayyy too small, which was my biggest mistake. There were a few others, but that is how one gets started out, right? Tomorrow night I am going to finish it up (I only have one last piece of velcro to sew on) and start a bigger one.  I will post pics of the finished product tomorrow. Even though it came out bad I thought it would be worse for my first time so I am proud LOL. I'm going to save it cause it will fit a newborn, our next child ;o)

Tonight after Brooke went to bed I did some excercises and then we wrote out thank you cards for the wedding. Tomorrow we have to finish those up. Then the cat went into Brooke's room and woke her up and now she thinks its playtime! She probably won't go to bed till we do, so she will just sleep with us tonight.

On Saturday I am going to help Beth watch her two nieces, ages 5 weeks and 13 months. Hmmm, three babies in diapers. That should be interesting LOL. I'm going to spend the night and we are going to buy some drinks and rent a movie to enjoy after the kiddos go to bed. Then Sunday morning we are going to the local flea market, which should be fun.

Happy 4th of July!

Well last night I drove up to New York to visit and spend the night at my friend's house. We had so much fun! She has a little boy that is Brook's age, and they are sooo cute together! First we went to a farm to go blueberry picking, but they were all picked out. So we went up to see their "petting farm" which turned out to be like 3 mangy goats and 2 mangy sheep in a pen. They also had some fainting goats, and we tried to scare them, but they didn't faint LOL. Afterwards we went back and watched a movie, and after the kiddos fell asleep we got really drunk and made drunken phone calls. Ah, like the good old days LOL. It was nice to get out and have fun, and Jason appreciated the break too. I posted a pic of me holding Brooke in my Ellaroo wrap while she is looking at a goat. I LOVE my Ellaroo wrap, it is so incredibly comfortable, she doesn't even overheat! Definatly worth the investment! The other pic is of her little boy and Brooke. They were so cute together! Her little boy can stand up by himself, and after watching him, she did it too, for only three seconds though! Then about ten minutes ago she did it again! My baby is growing up!

After I got home (to a super clean house yay DH) we went to my Aunt's cookout. Then we came home and we're just chilling now.

Tomorrow I plan on visiting the sewing machine dealer, and going to Joanne's. I'm also going to cook my fish dish for Jason, since he has been doing a lot for me lately LOL

MOUNT PLEASANT - About 25 nursing mothers protested outside a Victoria's Secret lingerie store supporting the right of women to breast-feed in public, one of them holding a sign that said "The Secret's out ... Victoria supports Breasts, but not Breast-feeding."

Meanwhile, state Rep. Chip Limehouse plans to introduce a bill protecting the rights of mothers to nurse in public places, as do laws in about three dozen states. Limehouse, R-Charleston, wrote a similar bill in the late 1990s, but it never passed.

"The legislature wasn't in a progressive frame of mind," he said. "Well, no longer do we have to worry about being progressive. We just have to catch up with the rest of the country."

The protesting mothers nursed their children outside the store at the Towne Centre shopping center on Thursday.

Several weeks ago, Lori Rueger asked to use a store dressing room to nurse her 10-week-old daughter, but said she was asked to go to the public bathroom at another store, a setting nursing moms call unsanitary and uncomfortable.

"I don't understand. In a state like South Carolina, where values and families are so important, why this is even an issue?" asked Jania Sommers, who has two grown daughters but came to support the mothers.

"It's crazy that a national company who sells women's bodies says it's not OK to do with your body what God intended it to do," she said.

Officials with Limited Brands, the parent company of Victoria's Secret, denied that Rueger was asked to leave earlier, but said she "became combative" when a clerk "suggested she might be more comfortable" in the restroom.

"As far as we're considered, this is a misunderstanding, and we're sorry it's gotten to this," company spokesman Anthony Hebron said. "We've always been very accommodating to our customers and will continue to do that."

Today's cookout

 

Well today was a nice day. We went to our neighbor's cookout and it was a lot of fun. Brookie went swimming with her grandma, and she had a lot of fun! I posted pics of her at the cookout and also of her playing her drum, which is pretty much her absolute favorite toy right now LOL. I got it at a yard sale for $.50!

After the cookout we went to the local bike trail and took a long walk. I used my new Ellaroo wrap, and it worked so good! It was so comfy and Brooke just loved being snuggled up next to me! It was definatly worth the investment!

Well tonight the plan is to clean, work on Brooke's dress, start a diaper cover, and go to the fireworks. If we go, I'll take pics and post them later.

Yay for Fridays

Well today was pretty much a good day. I did some laundry and cleaned up the house, and also worked a little bit on Brooke's dress. I put the pattern together then just said screw it and am kind of winging it on my own, so it isn't coming out to good, but whatever it's my first try, right?

Last night Jason set up my new sewing machine to use. I go to use it and guess what? It's broken! The inside of the handwheel is shattered and the belt is loose. Tomorrow I am going to the dealer to see if they can fix it. :o(

Not much else is going on. Tomorrow, besides going to the dealer, we are going to take a family walk, I'm going to clean, and work on Brooke's dress some more. I also want to go out somewhere with Brooke, I think we are both a little cabin fever crazy LOL! We still don't know what we are doing for the 4th, but Jason is going over his parents on Sunday.

Oh, one bad thing did happen yesterday. I took Brooke to her WBV, and she weighs 16lbs. The doctor said that she doesn't weigh enough, and that I need to move away towards breastmilk and more towards solids.  She said I have to give her three complete meals a day, and suggested that I feed her "french fries, cheese, and beef" to help her gain weight. Then she suggested I start to discipline her, 'cause if I don't she will become "out of control" @@@@@@@@@@! I'm changing doctors, I am not stepping back into that office ever again! Who tells someone to feed their 10 mos old french fries and beef?@@ She has her head too far up her @ss!
