Peaceful Times are the Best

The best feeling you can possibly have in the entire world is the one you get when your 6 month baby falls asleep on your chest. Its so peaceful and relaxing.

Brooke and I had a lot of fun playing this morning. She took some good naps too. Then she went out to eat with my mom and Aunt Pam while I went to school. School went by really fast.

When I got home at 8:30, Brookie was still awake. She usually goes to bed around 7. But tonight she was wide awake and wanting to play! Jason and I took turns holding her and trying to get her to go to sleep. Finally, I just laid down on the couch and laid her on my chest, and she eventually drifted off to sleep. Even though I had lots of work to do, I couldn't resist lying that way for another 10 minutes, because it was so peaceful and relaxing. Then I put her to bed and am now doing homework.

Also, today I got some coupons from my coupon buddy, yay! She sent me some good coupons, including some for diapers, wipes, etc. I didn't have any to send to her this week, but I can't wait till Sunday so I can search the coupons in the paper and return the favor. Having a coupon buddy is definatly a good thing when you are trying to penny pinch!

Good weekend

Well this weekend was really good. On Friday, DH and I went to Foxwoods. We had a lot of fun, although we lost our gambling money real quickly. Still, it was really nice to relax in the hotel, it was just what we needed.

On Saturday we spent the whole day getting ready to host Easter. We went food shopping at several different grocery stores, in order to get the best deals. I decided to serve turkey, mp, carrots, and other foods. It was hard work! But I got the house really clean!

Easter was good, everyone seemed to enjoy themselves. Brookie was really cute in her Easter outfit, and she loved her Easter basket that I - oops, I mean the Easter Bunny- put together for her :o)

Today was a good day. My second class was cancelled, so I got to go home early. I played with Brooke the entire afternoon, until it was time to pick Jason up from work (we still only have one car). After I picked him up, we went to the bank, and then we went to Filene's to register for our wedding. We picked out plates and glasses, and a crockpot, waffle maker, beach towel, napkins and placemats, and other nice things. I'm really excited about it! I didn't really do anything else today, just some homework and cleaned the kitchen. Oh, I called Tarah and invited them over for dinner on Thursday, so that should be fun. And tomorrow, I am joining Weight Watchers. Goodnight!

Busy Day

That's right, ladies and gentlmen! I bought my wedding cake today! This is my wedding cake, except the ribbon will be champagne, not black, and the top is different. The top I have is two swans surrounded by white flowers. Very pretty.  The base of the cake will be chocolate with a strawberry and mousse filling. The second level is going to be chocolate with a cream filling. And the top layer is also going to be chocolate with a strawberry filling. Very yummy! The frosting is cream and the decorations is a buttercream frosting.                                                                                    

Today I also went to Micheals. I bought some fabric markers and iron on patches for Brookie's new shirts. I used my 40% off coupon and save about $5, yay! I was really tempted to buy some scrapbook materials, but I have neither the money nor time to work on that right now. Maybe this summer.....         

Today Jason's car broke down on his way home from work. So now we have to pay to get his car and my car repaired. We were going to use the money from our security deposit to pay off the computer, but it doesn't look like that is going to happen now. Sometimes I feel like we will never get ahead.

I got a lot done today, I was Supermom! I rocked with getting the laundry done, cleaning the house, and working on homework and my FLY journal. Tomorrow is another busy day, gotta get things together before we leave. My mom is treating Jason and I to a luxury suite at Foxwoods and a little playing money, yay! We need a night out together.

Happy Brookie

Well the rest of the day went rather well. I got all my phone calls taken care of,  I decluttered the entire table in 15 minutes, I decluttered the master bedroom for 15 minutes, and it looks so much better just from that little time! I also worked out a budget for this week's groceries...for all the food we need for Easter dinner, plus our regular groceries, it will come to about $125....not bad considering all the extra food we need to buy. Unfortunatly, in order to get the best deals, we have to go to four different stores.  But it is worth the saved money!

I didn't get to excercise today because I was busy planning the grocery list and budget.  But I did find out from my WIC appointment that I have lost exactly 10 pounds since my last WIC appointment, which was three months ago, yay! After Easter, my mom is going to pay for me to go on Weight Watchers. I'm so excited, because I've heard so many success stories about them!

I'm going to ask my cousin Michelle if I can borrow her sewing machine so I can teach myself to sew.  Not only is it something I am interested in, but it will save us a lot of money, and I can also make money off of it if I become good enough. I can't wait!

Well, I've got to get to my homework, and try to get to bed at a decent hour, because I have a lot of work to do tomorrow! Ciao!

FlyBaby Day

Well, so far this FlyBaby thing is really great! It's almost 9:30 in the morning, and so far I have : showered and dressed down to the shoes, cleaned the kitchen, cleaned the living room, cleaned brookie's room, made the bed, cleaned the floors, checked my email and message boards, and put brookie down for a nap. Whew! And its only 9:30, yay!

Things I am going to get dome today are: Refrigerator cleanout (15 minutes), declutter hot spot for 15 mintues, go through underwear, and spend 15 minutes decluttering the master bedroom. I also have to make a bunch of phone calls, go to my WIC appointment, draw out a budget, do homework, excercise, and get easter figurered out. I'll do as much as I can, and I won't get stressed if I can't do it all.

Fly, Fly Away

Well, today is my first day as a FlyBaby! Right now, my sink is soaking in bleach. I have a really good feeling about this, I hope it works for me.

Today I went to Stacie's school so her friends could meet Brookie. Brookie was soo good! I had fun, we played cards and went out to eat at Ruby Tuesdays, where I spent more money than I should have :o(

Well, from now on I am going to clean up my life more and save money. This is the first day of our real budgeting, yay! I just hope I have enough motivation to stick to it.

I think that is all for today. Brookie changed her bedtime from 7 to 8 o'clock. That gives me less time for homework :o( but more time to play with her :o)

Speaking of homework, I better get to it! I'm now going to do at least an hour of homework. Ciao!

A Day Gone Bad

Ugh, today just did not go as I had planned. Well, I attempted to take better pics, but I do not like how they came out at all. The good ones that I took were lost in the defective disk. Then, while I was taking them, she fell over and hit her head! My poor baby was crying!

While I was attempting to comfort her, Rex knocked the camera off the couch. Now it won't turn on. I'm already suffering from camera withdrawal.

So I take the pics I have and try to order them via walmart online, 'cause its suppossed to be so easy, right? WRONG! It took literally an hour for the photos to upload, and then a message popped up saying there was an error and they weren't able to upload them! So after an hour of wasting my time, I grabbed the disks, bundle Brookie up, and head out to Wal-Mart.  There, I go to order my prints only to find out that the one pic I liked and wanted to make an 8x10 was still at home! GRRRRR! So I sat around waiting for an hour at walmart for my other photos to be developed.

I finally get home, and entertain Brookie till DH got home. Then, I get slammed with a migraine.

So, not the greatest day of being a SAHM, but tomorrow will be better hopefully. I'm taking Brookie up to Stacie's school tomorrow morning, we'll see how that goes.

YAY FOR SPRING BREAK!!!

Ok, well so far Spring Break Rocks! I had so much fun with Brookie yesterday, I took sooo many pics, as you can see. I took some of her in front of the mirror, and realized then how dirty the mirror is. So today I am going to re-take those pics, after I clean the mirror.

The other pics are my attempts of saving money by taking studio looking pics of her myself. I tried many times, but don't like the ones I've taken so far. The only one I do like, I can't use b/c too much would get cut off in the size that I want. They are all still cute, though, especially the ones where she is sneezing and the one where she is blowing a raspberry at me. I'm going to get them developed as 4x6's.

Today I am going to try them again. I'm going to use better lighting, and am also going to take Easter ones by changing the background to a pastel green. I'll post my attempts.

Today's plan is: Go to Wal-mart, clean house, and HAVE FUN WITH MY BABY! Speaking of the little monster, I hear she is up from her nap now. Time to take some pics! I'll post some more later.

Oh, and I had emailed the pics to the lovely ladies of the september baby message boards, and they are the ones who gave me the awesome tips on how to improve them. Thanks, ladies!

YAY FOR GOOD DAYS!

Today I had the greatest day! Brookie woke up very happy and we had a great morning. Then I went over Tarah's house after Brookie's morning nap. It was sooo good seeing her again! She has a 7 week old baby boy, Ayden. I think Ayden is such an awesome name! Anyways, Ayden is soo cute! And he's so tiny, but so big! He's smaller than Brookie, but not by that much, he weighs twelve pounds! He slept the whole time I was there, but he is def a beautiful baby. Man, do I miss those days of sleeping lol!

Tarah looked really great, too. She also BF exclusively and we share a lot in common in terms of parenting style. She also wants to make her own baby food when the time comes. It's so great now, not only do I have a friend that has a baby and wants to hang out, but we also share similiar parenting views! It's so awesome. Her boyfriend seemed wicked nice too. He seems to treat her well and is really good with Ayden. Tarah is going to call me and we are going to hang out this week, since I am on spring break. She also said she would do the parenting group with me.

When I got home I played with Brookie for a long time. She stayed up really late tonight, and I videotaped DH playing with her. So cute! When I finally put her to bed she looked so peaceful and perfect and innocent I cried. I pray she always stays safe and happy!

Well I'm going to do some more Pilates like I did last night! My mom offered to pay for me to go on Weight Watchers, and I've only heard good things about it, so I'm really excited! Ciao!

busy busy bee

Well today was a really good day. I was up until 2:30 doing a mid-term for one of my classes, so I had a real hard time waking up.  Brookie helped though, when she got impatient and started punching my face lol! We played for most of the morning, then we went out with my mom to run errands.  We also paid the fee for the Grafton Common, where we are going to have our wedding, so that is taken care of.  This weekend we are going to get a lot of other stuff done for the wedding, we are going to be so busy!

I took a lot of pictures this morning, I couldn't help myself, Brookie looked so cute! And she was so good while we were out with my mom, especially when we went out to eat at our favorite chinese restaurant! I just love these pics!

Some more good news: recently, I was online when an old high school friend im'd me. Turns out she just had a baby also! His name is Ayden and he is 7 weeks old. I cannot believe how excited I am that I finally know someone else with a baby! We plan on getting together this Saturday to have a baby day, I am so incredibly excited! I can't wait to see her again and to meet her little bundle of joy!

Ugh, I've been doing really bad with my excercising. I really gotta whip my butt into gear. I will do some before I go to bed, if I have time. AHHHHH! Ok, starting tomorrow, I absolutely resolve to start excercising more! Let's see if I can do it.

AHHHHH

Well today was a good day. Brookie woke up early and fed in bed, and then we both went back to sleep till around 8. After a couple hours of playing and laughing (she was in a really good mood) Brookie went down for her nap at 10:30 and then slept till 1:00! I couldn't believe it. Good and bad, good cause I got some work done, bad cause I didn't get to spend any more time with her before I left for work. She was so cute, it took everything I had to walk out that door!

A couple days ago I let Brookie feed herself. My what a mess she made! I took some pics of it. There's also a pic of Brookie and I, something rarely seen. I'm working on changing that.

I'm so excited about being a mom, I can't wait for the summer when I can spend more time with her and not have to worry about school.

Just another manic monday

Well this weekend was a really good weekend. Friday we went to Pub 99, Jason and I with Brooke. Brooke pretty much slept the whole time, and it was nice that DH and I got to spend some time together.

Saturday we spent all day cleaning like crazy for DH's birthday party. Almost everyone invited came, despite the massive amount of snow. We played poker, and hung out and talked. Joe got DH a Hello Kitty balloon as a joke, and Brookie absolutely loves playing with it, she is fascinated with it!

Either this Friday or this Saturday night, we are going to go clubbing with some friends, yay!

Sunday was pretty busy too. We went to the new church, which was very nice and had padded pews, yay! Then we went to the Worcester Library 'cause I had some research to do, but it was closed. So then we went to Wal-Mart to get my pictures developed, and it took forever! Then we just went home and relaxed.

Today was also a nice day. I got a lot of schoolwork done, and Brookie was in such a good mood all day! DH really helped me out by feeding her, and reading to her as part of her bedtime routine. Yay DH!

Whew what a day! Well, I was soo excited about my playgroup on Thursday. I even got Brookie all dressed up and took pics and everything. Well, I left on time and got COMPLETELY LOST! After an hour of driving hopelessly around, I gave up and went home. I was sooo bummed! I found out later that there were three other babies there Brooke's age! AHHHHH!

On a good note, DH and Brooke and I went out to eat with my mom and my lovely cousin Kim! Brookie spilled a glass of water all over Kim's lap (hehehe). We got home waayyyy past Brooke's bedtime though, and I was so tired I didn't do any of my reading. Oh well.

just another boring wednesday

Well, today was just another boring wednesday. Nothing interesting happened at all. I did give Brookie some avacado, and she seemed to like it better. She opened her mouth for the spoon and tried to grab the spoon to feed herself. But then she started crying, so now I don't know what I'm doing wrong. I'm going to try it for another couple days, and if she acts the same way, then I'm going to give it a rest.

Not much else going on. Tomorrow I have my playgroup, yay! Hopefully these women will be nice, although they seem really nice in their emails and such.

Today I did an aerobic video, and tomorrow I'm doing Pilates. I'm also going to call the YMCA 'cause I think they might have mommy and me classes. I really gotta whip my butt into gear lol.

finally

Well the day is finally over. My school cancelled, so I was planning on working on my paper. But, Brooke was impossible today. She wanted to be held constantly. Its a good thing I love to hold her so much, but boy it was still draining.

Mom and I gave Brookie a bath in mom's new sink, she was so cute! She likes it better than the bathtub, I think. Or maybe it was just that my mom was there. She kept splashing the water and playing with her toys, it was so cute! I video taped it and got pics, yay!

Ugh, it is soo cold in here. It's always cold, but its worse when there is a storm. Seriously, I was looking at the glass door and the blinds were actually moving with the wind. So I go over there and there is snow and ice inside the door, all over the kitchen floor! So I guess the reason that its always cold is that the door is off track and the cold is just seeping in, brrrrr! We have to replace the door or something.

Well, I guess that is pretty much it. Just got done writing a paper, finally. This weekend is jason's party, cant wait! and I'm also excited about my playgroup this thursday!

aaahhh schoool

Did you ever have one of those days where you feel like you are never going to get ahead? I had one of those today. I was just short on my temper with everything, with Brooke, DH, everything. I feel horrible b/c I was wicked bitchy. If I was still recieving visits from AF, I would say that a visit was coming soon. But I'm not, so I don't know what gives.

I'm just feeling overwhelmed with school. It seems like I can never get ahead, that I am always pulling all nighters. And I really want to have time to excercise. I did pilates last night and felt great afterward. I would like to work in an hour of excercising a day, but so far that hasn't been working out well. *sigh*

I was also impatient with Brooke. I didn't lose my temper, just got irritated. I can't wait until this growth spurt or whatever is over, but now I'm scared that it already ended, and that she just had a shift in personality where she constantly has to be held or fed or comforted.  Everytime I want to get something done, she starts crying, even when she's been fed and changed. *sigh*

Ok, here's the plan tomorrow. I probably won't get any work done before school, but if Brooke does happen to nap, then I am going to spend a half hour on my paper, then a half hour working out, then a half hour on my paper, etc. until she wakes up.  Then, when I get home, I will focus solely on my paper. I'm not too worried about this paper, it doesn't seem too hard.

Well, I guess I better get going. I gotta pump and get to bed. Ciao!

good weekend

Well this weekend was really good weekend. We're pretty much unpacked, although Jason did most of if not all of the work. Tomorrow is another school day, sigh.

This Thursday I have my other mother's group. This one is supposed to have more babies in it, and its at one of the mothers house, who sounds really nice in the emails that she's sent me. Hopefully things will work out good.

Oh, we had such a good day today for food! As you know, Brooke tried banana first and hated it. I tried apple on her this entire past week, and she did better than with the banana, but was still pretty much uncooperative. Well today I ran out of apple, so I tried banana again, and she liked it! She would open her mouth for the spoon and make the yucky face, but then she would laugh and open her mouth for more! She did gag a couple times, so she still has to get used to the texture, but it was our best day for solid foods yet, yay!

OMG I'm so tired now I'm going to go crash into bed. Ttyl. Ciao!

TGIF

Well, today was a good day. I missed Brooke a lot while I was at school, but I got to spend a lot of time with her when I got home.

Jason and I have soo much work to do this weekend, with unpacking and cleaning and homework and working out. I'm going to get my butt back into gear with workign out and stuff. Jason bought me a yoga matt and a core ball kit, so I have no more excuses! I also have my mom's machines downstairs. I'm thinking tomorrow, after Brooke's morning feeding, I'm going to go for a run before my shower.

Tomorrow is Jason's Grandmother's birthday, so we are going over his uncle's house in RI to celebrate.

busy busy busy bee

Hey everyone! Today was great! To start off, Brookie and I went to our first play date!  Although the women were very nice, they were all older. And the youngest child there was 18 months. I did have fun, but I got upset and left when a 2 yr old girl kept coming up, grabbing toys out of poor Brookie's hands, and pushing her over. GRRRR....that made me so mad!

When I gave Brooke her apples today, she actually opened her mouth for the spoon and did much better! She still made the yucky face, though!

Brooke and I played alll day! She's still having growth spurts, so she ate a lot too. I swear, the clothes she had on today are too small, but they fit last week! Tomorrow I have to go and start packing away the smaller brand of clothing, like Old Navy, because she is outgrowing them. Oh, no, my poor baby is growing up! *happy sob*

When Brooke and I were playing, I took some more pics. Actually, I used up the rest of my memory card, so I have to get the ones I have developed before I can take new ones. I know, I know, I'm one of those mothers. :o)

Well, I gotta get going to bed. School tomorrow (blech). Byes!

whew

Whew, today was kind of draining. As I mentioned earlier, Brooke was non-stop crying whenever I put her down. She is still not over her growth spurt, so she is also feeding constantly. Of course, she only acted like this when there was nobody else around. When my mom or aunt or even DH was around, she acted like a perfect angel, happy and smiling. So now everyone thinks I'm either crazy or I'm overreacting when I tell them that she is cranky. oh well.

Sometimes I just have all these thoughts running through my head that I can't pin down because they are flying through too fast. Like ambition to do a million things at once, promises to start a new attitude tomorrow, etc. It goes by so fast! Or maybe I'm just drinking too much coffee. I really gotta cut back on the coffee, I read today that it messes with your milk supply.

Today I started a local chapter of Mommy's Milk Group, an organization that brings together breastfeeding women. I started it at www.matchup.com. Now all I have to do is wait to see if anyone joins. The website is really cool, you can pretty much start a local group on any topic you can think of. I hope ppl sign up for my group!

Tomorrow I have to go meet the landlord of our old apartment to do an inspection and turn in our keys. I really hope we get all of our security deposit back, 'cause we could really use the money right now!

Well, time for bed. Tomorrow will be another day, another chance to change my attitude to a more positive outlook on my life. Let the sunshine in!

Brownie!

OMG Brooke is being impossible today. Everytime I put her down she starts screaming. I can't wait until this growth spurt is over, or she is done teething, or whatever her problem is lol!
